This is my personal psalm celebrating our family by adoption. I wrote it when the kids were very young. It’s been published in our adoption agency’s newsletter and in a church bulletin. I hope its purpose is very clear to you… to give credit to the Giver of every good and perfect gift.

O Lord when I ponder
On what you have done.
When I marvel with wonder
at my daughter and son.
My eyes fill with tears
and my heart swells within me.
At the wonder, the blessing
that you meant to be.

You knew in advance
the path of my life.
You planned for me the man
who would call me his wife.
You chose for us our children
from far acroos the sea.
Our family formed by adoption
was truly meant to be.

O Lord, my God
I’m blessed beyond all measure.
These children of my heart
are our priceless treasure.
How could I doubt
your lovingkindness to me.
You made us a family
and we were meant to be.
